The Artist
Art is my soul. Everything that surrounds me, everything I see, feel and hear, is art. The universe, and its nature within, is the greatest manifestation of art, while the human being is not only the most beautiful creation, but also a prolific creator.
In our lifetime we are given a chance to express art everyday. Our actions, our movements, our feelings are all art.
We can make things happy or sad, beautiful or ugly, fruitful or useless, it's really up to us. Each of us is a creator, like an artist looking at his canvas and deciding what to paint.
Greta Lood is an internationally renowned visual artist from the Philippines. Her one woman show in Manila was opened by Madame Imelda Marcos in 1999. Greta's father was the Honorable Guardson Lood, a Justice of the Court of Appeals and Circuit Judge, twice Vice Governor of the coastal province of Zambaonga del Norte, and Assemblyman to the Philippine Parliament. After graduating from the University of Santo Tomas with a degree in Fine Arts, Greta expressed her creative talent as a founding partner of Collecciones Italianne, an interior design firm. She also personally designed patterns in haute couture for the social elite in Manila, producing elegant garments under the "Ivorie" label, named after her youngest daughter. Since 2006, Greta has been the Curator of Art Exhibitions at the uniquely beautiful Gardens Memorial Park in Boca Raton, Florida, where she is also responsible for creating The Gardens' art gallery. She has organized and curated numerous successful theme exhibits, working with individual artists and associations such as The American Society of Media Photographers, the Artists Guild of the Boca Raton Museum of Arts, Boca Helping Hands, and is currently planning a major event with Hadassah. Greta's works are being collected by prestigious people both in her country and the United States.
